cabbage chutney
Ingredients needed: chopped cabbage-one cup, small onions_10, green chillies_5, chutney kadalai_ 1 tablespoon, required salt.For seasoning......mustard,urud dhal,pinch of hing,curry leaves.oil for sauting and seasoning. Let's start doing our chutney,,......................heat the pan with a spoon of cooking oil.Add green chillies,small onions,chopped cabbage.saute it for 7 to8 minutes.dont allow them to change the colour.Saute it by standing near by.switch off the stove.cool it.Transfer them to a mixie jar along with a table spoon of chutney kadalai , required salt, required amount of water to grind.grind it.Transfer the chutney to the bowl.now do the seasoning.Add little oil to the seasoning pan,heat it,put mustard seed,urud dhal each half teaspoon,a pinch of hing,little curry leaves.when they pops up,pour it on the top of the chutney and give a mix.our chutney is now ready to serve.Goes well with dosa and idli.It is difficult to differentiate this from coconut chutney.very healthy and tasty too.Try it.
