Ingredients:.   Toor dhal_one cup, Kashmiri chilli_4, red chillies_5, jeeragam_1teaspoon, garlic cloves_7, curry leaves_15, asafoetida_half spoon, required salt. Just heat a pan with 1/4 teaspoon of oil.add chillies.saute it for 5minutes with out change in the colour. Keep aside.  In a same day,add toor dhal.saute it for 3minutes.then add garlic, curry leaves, jeeragam, asafoetida.saute everything continuously in a low flame until the dhal turns golden colour.cool them. First in a mixie jar,grind the chillies with salt.then add other ingredients.grind it into a fine coarse powder.store it in air tight container.serve along with ghee and white rice.

Ingredients:.  To dry roast: coriander seeds, jeeragam,sombu, pepper horns,kasakasa_each a teaspoon. Clove_4, cinnamon_small piece, cardamom_3, kalpaasi_ a spoon, red chillies_4, curry leaves_15. Dry roast all these and keep aside. To roast in a spoon of cooking oil:. Small onions_20, garlic_10, ginger_ a small piece, tomato_2(small size). switch off the stove and add a cup of shredded coconut. Grind all the above ingredients into a fine paste. In a pressure cooker,add two tablespoons of cooking oil.heat it.now add a spoon of coriander powder, a spoon of red chilli powder.now add the grinded paste.add a packet of mushroom (cut into pieces).add 3_4 glasses of water and required salt and a pinch of turmeric powder.closr the lid.pressure cook for 3whistles.open and garnish with chopped fresh curry leaves.

simple tomato rice and potato fry

Ingredients:.  For 3-4 persons. Tomatoes_6(medium sized,),    small onions_25(finely chopped), garlic_15cloves(finely chopped), green chillies_5, curry leaves, jeeragam_1spoon, sombu_1spoon, kadalai paruppu_1spoon,mustard and split urud dhal _1spoon, pinch of turmeric powder, required salt,red chillies_2, Kashmiri chilli powder_1spoon, gingelly oil_2tablespoon. Just mash the tomatoes finely by hands.heat a kadai .add gingelly oil,add mustard,urud dhal, jeeragam, kadalai paruppu,sombu, asafoetida,red chillies, curry leaves,one by one.saute it and then add small onions,garlic,green chillies.daute for 3_4 minutes.add mashed tomatoes.add required salt, turmeric powder, Kashmiri chilli powder.saute it for 5minutes.then close the kadai with the lid.cook in low flame until the tomatoes are well cooked.open and stir on and off.it takes almost 15_20 minutes.switch off the stove.now add the cooked rice in this ...

millet idli......soft and tasty ....

Ingredients:. Kodomillet(varagu)_1cup, barnyard millet-(kuthiraivaali)_1cup, pearl millet (kambu)_1cup,idli rice_1cup,urud dhal_1cup,red aval_1/2 cup, fenugreek seeds_1spoon. Method: soak urud dhal with fenugreek for 3hours.add red aval to it ten minutes before grinding urud dhal. Soak all the other ingredients altogether for 5 hours. Grind urud dhal,aval, fenugreek first.take the dough.then grind the other ingredients.mix the dough.add salt and stir with hands.ferment it for 8hours.make idlis .serve with coconut chutney.we can make dosas too using this dough.

Green moong dhal dosa

Ingredients:.   Green moong dhal_1cup,idli rice_3/4 cup, green chillies_2,ginger_a small piece, curry leaves_10, sombu_1/2 teaspoon, salt_required amount,.... Method:  soak both dhal and rice together for 4hours.Then grind it in a mixie along with other ingredients to a smooth batter.make dosas as usual.no need to ferment.serve with ginger chutney.

Channa masala......easy method.

Ingredients:. Cup of white channa soaked in water for 8 hours , big onion- _2medium sized,. Ginger _a small piece, garlic _5to 6 cloves, tomatoes (preferably Bangalore tomatoes) _2 medium sized, brinji leaf_1,clove_3, cinnamon_small piece, cardamom_2,channamasala powder_1teaspoon, red chilli powder_1teaspoon, Kashmiri chilli powder _1/2 teaspoon for the colour,dry mango powder _1/4 teaspoon,dry methi powder_1teaspoon,salt,oil for cooking, garam masala powder_1/2 teaspoon. Method: pressure cook the soaked channa with water and brinji leaf, cardamom, cloves,cinnamon for 5 whistles.open the cooker and pick up the brinji ,cloves, cardamom,cinnamons and throw away.it is added to give the aroma.keep the cooked channa aside. In a mixie,grind big onions,ginger,garlic to a smooth paste.make tomatoes as puree by grinding it.Heat a pan with a spoon of cooking oil.add the onion paste.saute until the raw smell goes.it takes 4to 5 minutes.then add tomato puree.saute again for 6to 7 minutes for the r...
